This step of the manufacturing is an essential activity in order to guarantee the perfect functioning of the mold. This job can only be done by people, who, with passion and handwork, polish and assemble the components of the final tool.
The first functional test is done inside the factory on a spotting press. The mould can be also tested possibly in the foundry.
Our assembly department is arranged to assemble molds with dimensions up to 1300×1500 mm for die-casting machines up to 1600 TON.
Once the parts of the mould are produced and finished, they go to our polishing-operators. Through manual procedures, the dies are smoothed in order to produce an accurate and free-of-defect product during the die-casting phase. The technology is important in this step too, but thus far handmade jobs are the best tool to erase the smallest imperfections.
When the process of polishing is made, all the components of the mould are assembled together with high precision, in order to obtain a perfectly funcioning die-casting tool. Finally, the mold is tested on a spotting press: the operator applies the so-called “prussian blue” on one half of the tool in order to check if it closes perfectly in every part.
